Part of the annual event also focuses on education. Over a seventeen music related topics are covered that include business realities and practices. From Career Critiques, Product Critiques, Recording, Publishing, Plugging, Legal, Records, Duplication, Distribution, Radio, Video, Broadcasting, Shop, Management, Promotions, Productions and more. Participants range from professional to novice at their craft.

The combination of live performances, educational instruction, industry gathering and parties make this event unique, fun, and a networking opportunity worthwhile for all participants. The LGBT Fest is a stepping stone and mixing experience from novice to professional.

The LGBT Festival staff is mostly made up of volunteers who put on the event. Volunteers work to act as emcees, stage hands, sound engineers and many other task that help keep things moving.
